The former minor leaguer outfielder played eight seasons of "Indy Ball" in five different leagues as a player and brings 14years overall as a player and coach to the RailCats dugout in 2016.
The Boston Red Sox drafted Goss in the 11 round of the 2002 June Draft and played two years in the Red Sox organization. In November of 2003, Goss was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks as part of a Curt Schilling trade that sent the future "bloody sock" right-hander to "Beantown". With the Diamondbacks, Goss reached AA El Paso in his one season with the Arizona organization.
After three years in affiliated ball, Goss moved on to the independent Northern League, landing with the Lincoln Saltdogs in 2005, and would go on to have stops as a player in the Can-Am League, Golden League, United League, and North American League. He began his coaching career in 2013 with the McAllen Thunder and served as hitting coach of the San Angelo Colts in 2014. In 12 professional seasons, Goss has a career .301 batting average with 19 home runs and 293 RBIs in 679 games.
Goss, a native of Mississippi, was born and raised in the "Magnolia State" attending Louisville (MS) High School. After high school, he moved on to Jackson, where he played his college ball at Jackson State University, where he hit a combined .373 in two seasons for the Tigers before being drafted in 2002.
